Heavy Metal Precipitation

agent that compounds with nearly all solute heavy metals in industrial

wastewater treatment.


POLY SEPAR® METALSORB ZT is successfully used in the following areas:

  • Metalworking, especially in the automotive industry
  • Metal finishing (galvanic treatment operations)
  • The glass and ceramics industry
  • Printers, tanneries
  • Cleanup of contaminated soils
  • Groundwater decontamination

POLY SEPAR® METALSORB ZT can be dosed stoichiometrically and undiluted

within the entire pH range from 2 to 12.The theoretic requirement for

bivalent metal ions is 700 g / mol. The reaction time is 10 min.


The insoluble salts resulting from the reaction form only micro-flocs.

Follow-up treatment with

  • Adsorption agent (POLY SEPAR® AM types) or
  • Precipitant (POLY SEPAR® CFF types)

is then required to achieve efficient separation and to eliminate any remaining excess amounts from the water.

With our new adsorbent POLY

SEPAR® AM 24 we have developed a product wchich is perfectly suited for reducin heaby metals. This particular adsorbent finds special application in electroplating.

For polishing waste water, we recommend our POLY

SEPAR® AM 25.

Our new development POLY

SEPAR® AM 26 is directed at the treatment of waste water from phosphatising baths. These particular adsorbents form very good flocs and can reduce the phophate conent to such an extent as to comply with the threshold values.
